Culpeper tells us of this plant "resists witchcraft very potently, as also all the evils old Saturn can do to the body of man" and also "neither witch nor devil, thunder nor lightning will hurt a man in the place where a bay tree stands". This herb removes malignant energy around us and dispels ill will directed towards us.
